Koh Samui is a wonderful island, located in the south-east coast of Thailand. The place is famous for its outstanding beaches, natural resources, coral reefs and coconut trees. It is the third largest island and the most prominent tour location of Thailand. The estimated population of the city is over 50,000. The picturesque landscape accompanied by serene atmosphere makes it a place worth to visit.

Koh Samui Attractions

Hin Ta and Hin Yai
Hin Ta and Hin Yai (Lamai Beach), popularly referred to as Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks, are located on the south end of Lamai beach. It is the most amusing place to visit for tourists, because of its unusual rock formation that is similar to the genital organs of male and female.

Big Buddha Temple
The Big Buddha Temple was formed in the year 1972. The centre of attraction of the temple is its 12-meter high golden statue of Lord Buddha. The place is now a most prominent meditation center for local inhabitants as well as foreigners.

Namuang Waterfalls
Namuang Waterfalls, situated 10 km south from Nathon at Ban Thurian, is a place to watch out for in Koh Samui. There are two waterfalls, both equally alluring. The first one has about 18m drop, while the other is 80m high.

Paradise Park Farm
Paradise Park Farm extends itself to an area of 20 acres of land. Cool breeze, water falls, small rivers, valleys and remarkable birds and wildlife creates an experience of heaven on earth.

Magic Buddha Garden
Magic Buddha Garden, also referred to as Magic Garden or Secret Buddha Garden or statue garden, is a place worth to visit in Koh Samui. The garden was built in 1976 by a local sculptor named Khun Nim. The place is near the highest point of Samui Island, from where whole of the island from north to south could be looked down.

Chaweng Beach
Travelers, right from young couples to elderly ones, throng into Chaweng Beach, which is the most developed place in the entire island of Koh Samui. In fact, it has been rated as one of the most-visited beaches in Southeast Thailand.

Other Attractions
Na Tian Butterfly Garden
Located at the bottom of the hill south of the island, Na Tian Butterfly Garden is an awesome place to visit. The garden exhibits some of the most unique and fascinating creatures, which includes rare species of butterflies, bee house, insect museum.

Wat Samret Temple
The temple is famous for its marble Buddha image brought from Burma. The temple is quiet old and consists of numerous other old images of Lord Buddha.
