Ko Samui is an island of Surat Thani Province of Thailand. Located on eastern coast of the Kra Isthmus, it is locally known only as Samui. Koh Samui is the country's third largest island, spread over an area of 228.7 km, with estimated population of more than 50,000. Koh Samui is sub-divided into seven sub districts and it consists of rich natural resources, white sandy beaches, coral reefs and coconut trees.

Tourist Attractions In Koh Samui

Chaweng Beach
Chaweng Beach is considered as an ideal relaxing zone in Koh Samui Island. The beach covered with Irish pubs, go-go bars, Italian pizza outlets and deluxe accommodation alternatives.

Namuang Waterfall
Namuang Waterfall encompasses two waterfalls, which are approximately 80 meters high. The waterfall is one of the most important tourist attractions of Koh Samui, situated at a distance of almost 10 kilometers south from Nathon.

The Big Buddha Temple
One of the best tourist attractions in Koh Samui is 'The Big Buddha Temple'. It is a 12 meters high statue of Lord Buddha, which was constructed in 1972. It is assumed as one of the most recognizable symbols of Koh Samui and has been regarded as a must-visit place for tourists of Thailand.

Hin Ta - Hin Yai
Hin Ta - Hin Yai is a couple of strangely shaped rocks located at south Lamai. It was build on a local story that reveals life of an old couple, whose ship was wrecked in the bay. According to the legend, their bodies were washed onto land in order to create the rocks. Tourists love to see Hin Ta - Hin Yai while touring Ko Samui.

Paradise Park Farm
Paradise Park Farm is one of the biggest attractions in Koh Samui. Spread over 20 acres of land, it is covered with tropical rainforest. One can enjoy water falls, small rivers, canyons and the sight of exotic birds and wildlife, here.

Magic Buddha Garden
The Magic Buddha garden is situated in the hills of Samui. As a tourist, one can enjoy several statues, temples and waterfalls, which are visual treats.

Sawadee Shrine is one of the major tourist destinations of Koh Samui. It is considered as a central image for reverence and faith. Sawadee Shrine based on the Brahma of Sawadee. It is located in IT Complex, Lamai.

Lamai Beach
Lamai beach is famous for its numerous bars. Around the beach, there are quite a few entertaining zones. In Ko Samui, Lamai beach is also popular for its typical rock formations.
